LO Pilates: The family
LO the name and inspiration
From PE Teacher to Studio Founder
Before opening LO Pilates, movement was already my career. I spent five wonderful years living in Singapore and working as a full-time PE teacher. After returning home to the UK, our family grew quickly with the birth of our first daughter, Luna, followed soon after by our second, Olive.
Navigating early motherhood made me realise I wanted to channel my teaching skills into something more personal. I decided to blend my background in physical education with my deep love for Pilates, completing my professional certifications with the London Pilates Academy.
LO Pilates—named proudly after Luna and Olive—is the result of that transition. It is a space built on passion, expertise, and a desire to create a legacy my daughters can look up to.
My Journey to LO Pilates
Movement is in my DNA. Raised by parents who still run marathons and compete in Ironman competitions, I spent my childhood competing for Great Britain on the youth Modern Pentathlon teams. Later in life, I fell in love with rowing, also reaching an international level.
However, pushing my body to its absolute limits in elite sport came at a cost: persistent injuries. Stepping away from competition allowed me to re-evaluate my fitness, leading me to Pilates
The Missing Piece of the Puzzle
Pilates completely changed my perspective on fitness. It woke up the deep, foundational muscles that traditional sports neglect. It brought my body back into balance, healed my chronic aches, and later served as my absolute lifeline for mental and physical recovery after having my children. I only wish I had discovered it sooner!
Today, I’ve turned my lifelong passion for movement into a profession. At LO Pilates, I bring my background in elite performance, personal injury rehabilitation, and postnatal recovery to every client. Whether you are an athlete looking to bulletproof your body, a new mum rebuilding your core, or simply wanting to move without pain, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
